A4 booklet, 32 pages

Drop in one 32-page PDF and choose Saddle Stitch. Out come 8 SRA3 sheets with every page in folding order, front and back matched.1 file → 8 sheets, ready to fold and staple

A booklet from 8 separate files

The designer sent one PDF per page? Drag all eight in at once and choose Saddle Stitch: an A5 booklet on two A3 sheets, front and back, every page in order.8 files → 1 booklet, 2 sheets

Two booklets on every sheet

A 16-page A5 booklet printed 2-up on SRA3: the same spreads side by side, cut in half after printing. 100 booklets take 200 sheets, not 400.Booklet ups: 1 → 2

Business cards, 21-up

Drop in a two-sided card: the sheet fills itself, the back lines up behind the front, and a new gap shows the moment you type it.90 × 55 on SRA3: 21 up

Two different jobs on one sheet

Two shops' A4 flyers share one SRA3 sheet, 1 up each. Drop the second file onto the sheet; each back prints right behind its own front.A4 2-up, different jobs

Say it in words

Type the order the way the customer said it, “job 1 DL 3up, job 2 10up, bleed 3”, and the sheet lays out 3 DL flyers and 10 business cards by itself, front and back.Read on your computer, no internet

Running numbers

Raffle tickets, 20 to an SRA3 sheet, numbered 0001 to 0100. Drag the number onto the ticket; cut and stack, and the numbers run in order, stub and ticket matching.20 per sheet · 5 sheets · 20 stacks

Colour bar for offset

Turn on step 7 and a colour bar runs along the sheet edge across every ink zone: solid CMYK, 40% and 80% tints, and grey balance pairs. Shown here on B2, A5 9-up.Offset colour bar, one click

Roll fold, every panel adjustable

A Canva A4 menu with three equal 99 mm panels becomes a real roll fold. Type 98 · 100 · 99 and the inner panel folds in narrower, with fold marks outside the piece. No InDesign needed

Bleed the file didn't have

An A5 flyer sent at its finished size: click Mirror the edge and DayZu adds 3 mm of bleed, lays it on SRA3 and exports with crop marks. No going back to the customer, and the original is never touched.Mirrored 3 mm bleed

AI makes a soft picture sharp

A small picture prints at only 118 ppi on A5. One click and the AI on your own computer enlarges it 2× (235 ppi). Compare before and after at 400%, then use it. Nothing is uploaded.2× enlarge, on your computer

What it does

The jobs a print shop does every day, worked out for you

Every number comes from DayZu's own calculation, and every job is built as a real PDF you see before you export. What you see on screen is what prints.

Fills the sheet for you

Tries every arrangement, turned and upright, and keeps the one that fits the most. Placed at 100%, with crop marks around the sheet.90 × 55 cards on SRA3: 21 up

Front and back, heads the right way

See both sides together before you print. The back is laid out in mirror position, so nobody has to remember to flip on the long edge for every job.

Saddle-stitched booklets

Drop in one file per page. DayZu orders the spreads for folding, lets you drag pages around, and adds creep for thick stock, by shifting or by scaling.

Adds the bleed that isn't there

Frame the good part of the artwork, pick the finished size (DL, 90 × 55, anything) and DayZu mirrors the edge out into bleed. The original is never touched.

Finds the cards in a proof

A customer sends one picture with the front and the back on it. DayZu finds both cards, splits them into front and back, and adds the bleed.

AI on your computer

Sharpens soft images

Artwork designed with AI tools is often not sharp enough to print. Enlarge it 2× inside DayZu and compare before and after first. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

Three steps from customer file to press

Drop your files

PDFs or pictures, one or many. DayZu reads the real size from the file; it never guesses the finished size.

Check the real proof

It fills the sheet at once and builds a real PDF of both sides, with a list of anything to check before printing.

Export, ready to print

A sheet-size PDF that has passed a full check, straight to your printer. Your original file stays as it was.

Privacy

Customer work stays in your shop

DayZu runs on your shop's computer, not on someone else's server. Files and pictures go nowhere. It goes online only to check for a new version, when you write to us in the chat, and, if you connect your shop to the DayZu Hub, to send job cards, never files.

  • No uploadsLayout, file checks and AI enlarging all run on your computer, even with no internet.
  • Originals left aloneNo recompressing, no downsampling, no silent colour changes. Everything DayZu does is recorded in the output file.
  • Checked before every exportThe proof on screen is drawn from the PDF you will print, and export only unlocks once that file passes a full check.

Details

Works with the printer you already have

DayZu exports standard PDF, so any digital press or RIP that takes PDF will do. It prints real jobs every day on a Fuji Xerox digital press.

Questions

Before you try it

Does it need the internet?

No. Everything runs on your computer; it only goes online to check for a new version. Shops that don't allow internet access still get every feature.

Do our customers' files go anywhere?

No. Files, file names and pictures stay on your shop's computer. Even AI enlarging runs there.

Does it run on a Mac?

A Mac version is on its way for the beta. Tell us which computer your shop uses, so we can get it to you first.

How is it different from InDesign or Kodak Preps?

DayZu does one job: getting files ready to print, fast, for the everyday work of small and mid-sized print shops — business cards, flyers, menus and saddle-stitched booklets. Little to set up, and in your language.

Is the beta free?

Yes, free for the whole beta. We'll tell beta shops well before we start charging.

What if a job prints wrong?

During the beta, check the front and back proofs in DayZu and print one test sheet before every long run. If something is wrong, send us a screenshot and we'll fix it fast.
